Seminars in Global Health
The objective of this course is to expose professional and graduate students in the Health Science Center to global health issues that affect people, animals and the environment. This is an elective course (1 credit) that will address global health issues that affect people, animals and the environment such as: global climate change and public health; AIDS/HIV; tuberculosis; malaria; emergency response; sustainable agriculture, hunger and poverty; animal control; rabies; traditional (folk) medicine; global vaccine initiatives; immigration and public health; water quality and public health and wildlife conservation. The course will consist of 12 structured seminar presentations during the Fall semester (1 credit; 16 instructional units; Grading: S/U; must attend 10 of 12 seminar presentations). The seminars will be delivered weekly (Wednesdays, 5.30 to 7.00pm) at the Health Science Center ( PHNP Room 114 ).
