El Anatsui, one of Africa’s most celebrated artists will be speaking about his work at the Harn Museum of Art in conjunction with the opening of his exhibition. El Anastsui was born in Ghana, and moved to Nigeria in 1975. He is a professor of Sculpture in Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His work in wood, clay, paint, metal and found objects comment on Africa’s history and the continent’s political, cultural transformation. His exhibition is on display through October 16, 2005.
