The United States and France in a World Transformed - October 3, 2005

Ambassador Jean-David Levitte
4:30p, Constans Theatre, Reitz Union Colonnade

The France-Florida Research Institute is pleased to announce the visit to the University of Florida of the Ambassador of France to the United States. Among other events, Ambassador Levitte will deliver a lecture, free and open to the public.

Ambassador Levitte will address the paradoxical status of Franco-American relations, now mended after the rift over the war in Iraq, even though French and American foreign policy has not changed. He will also discuss the recent "no" vote of the French and the Dutch concerning the European Union constitution, and the consequences of this vote in an EU comprising 25 countries and 450 million citizens.

There will be an extended question and answer period.
