Information for all UF Students

Visiting the world outside our country's borders can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Whether you intend to study abroad, begin an international internship, volunteer with the World Citizenship Program or the Peace Corps, or simply travel; UFIC can provide you with important information to make your journey the best it can be.

Pre-Departure Guide

This Pre-Departure Guide is designed to walk you through many of the important steps and issues associated with study abroad. Each chapter can be downloaded in pdf form.

Travel Warnings

The Department of State provides travel warnings for countries of potential unrest and danger around the world as well as information on travel regulations and recommendations. Please note that the University of Florida follows these recommendations and will not approve students to go to such countries to earn credit towards their degree. Petitions can be submitted to the UF Risk Assessment Committee. Please contact Susanne Hill for more information. Students who want to study in Israel, please contact Martin McKellar.

MEDEX

MEDEX coordinates your medical care should you require treatment abroad as well as providing medical evacuation insurance. If you are leaving the country in conjunction with a UF program, it is required that you have this insurance in addition to standard health insurance. Click here for more information.
