UFIC New Faculty Bulletin - March 15, 2013

Dear All,

Welcome back from Spring Break! As you return to campus, I wanted to let you know about two upcoming international events: Viva Europe 2013 and the International Children’s Book Day. The UF International Center is engaged in the planning and delivery of both events as part of our Center’s campus outreach mission -  a key component of our work. Here are two good examples of the message that “Internationalization begins at home.”

VivaEurope! 2013

You are cordially invited to Viva Europe!, a free, family-friendly day-long celebration of the cultures of Europe. The festival is on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 11:00am-4:00pm at the Bo Diddley Community Plaza. More information, click here.

International Children’s Book Day

This event is intended to highlight children's books from around the world. The date of the event is April 2, 2013. Activities will include workshops and presentations by storyteller Barry Stewart Mann and an evening presentation by award-winning children's book author/illustrator Peter Sis. For more information, click here.

I look forward to seeing some of you and your families at these events.

Best regards,

David J. Sammons, Ph.D.
Dean, University of Florida International Center
