Haiti Working Group

The Haiti Working Group is a venue for sharing information, discussing current trends and facilitating learning and work done by UF faculty and graduate students in Haiti.

Current Activities

USAID|Watershed Initiative for National Natural Environment Resources (WINNER) Project

WINNER is a multidisciplinary program that aims to improve the livelihoods of the rural populations of Haiti. It does this through reducing risks posed by environmental degradation in the catchment areas of Plaine du Cul-de-Sac and Gonaïves.
Activities include agricultural intensification, rehabilitation of rural infrastructure, good governance of natural resources, collective awareness and public-private-peasant partnerships. The University of Florida was contracted for this project to provide training, extension, demonstration, private sector support and applied research.
