Lyn began working at UFIC in 2000 as an advisor for both UF students outbound to our partner institutions and the partner students coming to UF to study. She then took on immigration responsibilities for inbound students and other internationals coming to UF on J visas in addition to the advising for inbound students. She is currently Director of Exchange Visitor Services, the unit responsible for administering the J visa program on behalf of UF, in addition to managing the inbound reciprocal exchange programs and working with the inbound students.
Lyn was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, where she majored in Classical Studies. As an undergraduate student, she spent a summer in Argenton-sur-Creuse, France, helping to excavate a Gallo-Roman theatre. She has traveled to England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and Australia. She came to the US for graduate school in Classical Studies. She has taught Latin and classical civilization to undergraduate and middle-school students. She has presented at regional and national conferences in Classical Studies and with NAFSA.
